Alexandra McClelland

Alexandra McClelland
Eating Disorders And Complex
Presentations

  • Founding The Eatwise Clinics (formerly Southern Sydney Dietetics) in 2007 with the mantra of experienced clinicians offering only scientifically based advice with practical strategies.

Over the past decades we have seen diet trends come (and go), social media nutrition content increase exponentially (with declining accuracy) and the level of confusion around “What should I be eating/not eating?”. This has only increased nutritional confusion and decreased nutritional literacy. So if you are increasingly confused, don’t be alarmed, you are not alone.

Alexandra has seen thousands of local residents and is recommended by local GPs, surgeons, physicians as well as friends or family members of current/previous clients. Alexandra’s extensive clinical experience, counselling skills and diverse food knowledge accumulate to a wealth of knowledge she will draw on to advise you on how to best achieve your goals.

She is recognized by ANZAED (Australia New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders) as an Certified Eating Disorder Clinician Dietitian (CEDC- D) and is recognised by MONASH University as a FODMAP trained Dietitian. She is qualified to be a Dietitian Supervisor by DSRAI (Dietitian Supervisor Resources Australia & International) providing mentoring to other dietitians.

She graduated from the University of Wollongong with both a Bachelor and Master Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics over 20 years ago.Her career has included lecturing at the UoW and as a senior dietitian at St George Hospital. In both these roles she previously mentored undergraduate dietitians and continues to supervise qualified dietitians.

Outside of Dietetics, Alexandra is a ‘foodie’, there are very few restaurants in Sydney she hasn’t patronised . She enjoys training regularly, snowboarding and encouraging her team on long charity walks including the 45km Coastrek (for Beyond Blue) & The 35km Bloody Long Walk (for Mito Foundation).
