Grilled Apple and Cinnamon Skewers

Grilled Apple and Cinnamon Skewers

This combination of slightly tart green apples balanced with gently flowery red delicious apples will have you and the kids coming back for more. With an added touch of cinammon sugar, these grilled apple and cinnamon skewers are probably the easiest dessert/snack you’ll ever make!

💡 These will not store well for any length of time so plan to eat them fresh, straight off the grill.

Ingredients

🍽 Serves: 4 | ⏱ 10 minutes

  • 1 red apple, cored, cut into 8 wedges

  • 1 granny smith apple, cored, cut into 8 wedges

  • 1 tbsp caster sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • reduced fat vanilla yoghurt (to serve)

  • mint leaves (garnish)

Method

  1. Thread red and green apple wedges alternately onto skewers

  2. Preheat grill on medium-high

  3. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl then sprinkle over the skewers

  4. Grill for 6 minutes or until sugar has melted and apple has just softened

  5. Serve with reduced-fat vanilla yoghurt and garnish with a mint leaf

Tip: Run water over the skewers before threading to stop the sticks from burning.
